SENTINEL / TRANSITION INDEX

Cambrex — Charles City

Cambrex is advancing a new large-scale API plant at its existing 1205 11th Street campus. The exact site is already deeply regulated, so the diligence target is how the announced Pharma 5 project maps into facility-level authorization state as the project advances.

Facility identity

Address: 1205 11th Street, Charles City, IA 50616
EPA Registry ID: 110014425050
Facility: Cambrex Charles City, Inc.
Project: Pharma 5 expansion; announced investment of at least $120 million, with groundbreaking scheduled for late 2026.

What the public record shows

Cambrex says the expansion will add a new plant with 140,000 liters of capacity and enhancements to existing manufacturing suites. EPA FRS independently resolves the same 1205 11th Street site and shows air, state environmental, RCRA and other program identities.

This establishes the project and the regulated facility independently. It does not, by itself, establish that any particular permit application or authorization change is the Pharma 5 project.

Evidence boundary

Sentinel keeps project state and permit state separate. A permit or application is linked to Pharma 5 only when the public record provides a defensible project-level connection; same-site timing alone is not enough.
